Casket Sprays

Casket sprays are a very
traditional tribute usually
presented to the loved one from a
living spouse or immediate family.
It is used exclusively in
conjunction with an open or
closed casket during the
visitation hours and during the
funeral ceremony. There are
several styles of casket spray,
but the most commonly used in
this area are the half-couch and
full couch styles.

The term - couch - is an old
fashioned term for casket. A half
couch spray would drape the
lower half of the casket during
the visitation if the casket is open,
while a full couch spray would be
mounted on the casket lid. When
the casket is closed for the
funeral service, both types of
sprays would be resting on the
center of the casket.

A Classic Florist produces our
designs in your choice of 3 sizes -
the half couch, small full couch
and large full couch. The reason
for two sizes of full couch is that
we want to match the size of the
floral spray to the individual. A
small full couch spray would be
appropriate for a smaller
individual, since it is 4 1/2 ft in
length, while a large full couch
spray would be appropriate for a
tall individual. For a very small
individual or child, the half couch
would be an appropriate selection.
